As part of the remediation and enabling works for St George at Wandsworth Mills, STATOM Group implemented critical measures to protect and reinforce the historic river wall. Given the site’s long industrial history and environmental challenges, safeguarding the structural integrity of the river wall was a key aspect of the project.
Works involved careful remediation around the wall to prevent destabilisation during construction, ensuring that existing foundations remained secure. Measures were taken to mitigate potential environmental risks, particularly concerning soil and groundwater contamination, to prevent pollutants from impacting the river. Additionally, structural reinforcements were introduced where necessary to enhance the wall’s durability and longevity, supporting the long-term stability of the redevelopment.
