Demolition Underway at Leegate Shopping Centre Redevelopment

Demolition works are progressing well at London Square’s 17,500 square metre Leegate Shopping Centre site, with Statom Group Demolition advancing the project safely and on schedule.

Over recent weeks, the team has completed key early-stage activities, including soft strip works, asbestos removal and the installation of scaffolding. These preparatory works have now enabled structural demolition to begin this week.

Works will continue across the site in the coming weeks as demolition gathers pace. All materials arising from the process are being carefully managed, with a strong focus on sustainability. Statom Group Demolition is targeting a 98 per cent recycling rate across all waste streams, with materials set to be responsibly reused both on and off site.

Further updates will be provided as the project progresses. The strong momentum maintained by the team marks a significant milestone in the transformation of the Leegate Shopping Centre site.
