Statom Group is proud to announce our partnership with Get Construction Talking, a charity dedicated to raising awareness and tackling the mental health challenges faced by those working in the construction industry. The construction sector plays a crucial role in shaping our world, but it’s also confronting a serious, often unspoken issue. Research shows that construction workers face disproportionately high rates of depression and anxiety compared to other industries. Even more tragically, suicide rates within the sector remain alarmingly high, highlighting the urgent need for change.
Get Construction Talking was founded by Fred Mills, a passionate advocate for mental health within construction. With years of experience in the industry, Fred has seen firsthand the struggles many workers face. His mission is to break down the stigma surrounding mental health, encourage open and honest conversations, and provide much-needed resources to those who need support. We’re honored to work alongside Fred and the team at Get Construction Talking to shine a light on this critical issue and to help drive meaningful change across the industry. Together, we can foster a culture of understanding, support, and wellbeing for everyone in construction.
Our commitment to supporting our people and community goes hand in hand with the mission of Get Construction Talking. We firmly believe that mental health is just as important as physical safety in the workplace, and it’s an issue that deserves just as much focus. Partnering with this incredible charity allows us to work toward a shared goal: building a construction industry where mental health is prioritized, conversations are encouraged, and every individual feels supported in a healthier, more positive environment.
